McDonald's drive through

I would like the address of the individual who thought it was a good idea to make a double drive-through at McDonald's! For those of you who don't yet have this at yours, let me describe it for you because it's probably not what you think.
Picture a typical drive-through. Now, just before you get to the ordering box, cut a little path behind it to another ordering box. This little path will loop right back to the main path. What this means is anyone who chooses the little path, will have to get back in line after ordering. There is still only one pay window which means in the event the person ordering at the main box doesn't let you out in front of them, the ordering sequence is out of sequence! Then, when you get to the pay window, you have to be asked what you ordered so they can figure out what the correct order is again! Wow! They really saved time with that set-up! Is the world run by idiots? Do I even have to ask!?

This might sound "over-the-top" but, it's all the work of one person. I can tell you what year it started..1984. That's when corporation started laying off employees (that's what they called it back in those days)to assist the bottom line and "spike" shareholders stocks. It was very popular. This have progressed since those days. Fast-forward to what we are seeing today. First, I'll get this guys name for you that I'm speaking of. CEO's regard his teachings manditory. It's all about profit. Your fast-food joint hires sub-contract anylists to comb through the books and come up with better ways to maximize profits. Not the employees profits mind you... After the contractor anylist makes his "find" exects spin it too share- holders and they invest more money. What you see is a screwed up mess BUT, that doesn't matter. Cash was spent, people were impressed, that's all that mattered. What you can't see passing through the drive-through is what kind of hours those "employees" work. None of which put in more then 39.9 per week. That would mean (dirty word here) bennefits. Haveing employees is bad enough on the bottom line but, bennefits are not what share holders want to see being paid out. Anything that doesn't have to do with profit is bad. CEO's rake in millions anually, and that's wonderful in the eye's of share-holders, but they would drop to their knees if one-too-many-persons were hired to cover a shift. Ghost we are living some of the worce times for the working class that have ever been. Republican's rule coporate America. Damn the poor. They always have their hands out no matter how much is given them. This era just ignors the poor and party's on. The new montra is "I got mine". I guess if you didn't, then that's too bad. Exon Mobile Corp made a clean profit of 66 Billion. Did you know the average heart doesn't beat a billin times in it's life? That's just to try and put a billion dollars in perspective here. Anyway, do you know what Exon Mobile did with part of that profit? Why they did what all coporations dream about doing. They bought up as much of their stock as they could!!! Why would they do that you ask? So they wouldn't have to pay share-holders. They could keep all that dough for themselves. Were seeing a level of greed that's never been before.

I'll pretty much agree with you on the corporate philosophy but, I must have missed the name you mentioned you would divulge. Although I agree with you on the philosophy of your argument, I don't see it as an explanation of a design that slows down profit-earning ability which is the antithesis of the corporate mentality.
